THE FERRYMAN (noun)

   Old.

An older name for the Misery-Maker known as the ARCHANGEL. There are records of it going back to the Greeks and the Egyptians, where they would see "apparitions" of their dead ones. There are also records of other sightings of a man in a Nijmegen Helmet. This appears to have been replaced by more modern masks and finally a gas mask during World War I.

Example: in the end, as he died, he was finally led across the river by the Ferryman.

Other terms: the Archangel, the Angel of Death, Osiris, Thanatos, the Resurrection Man (old).

PERCEPTION FILTER (noun)

   Current.

A new term that describes certain phenomena associated with the Misery-Makers, specifically the ability to change what people see. Certain Misery-Makers have been able to walk down the street during daylight, in plain view of hundreds of people, and have been noticed only by one person.

The term comes from the television program Doctor Who.

Example: he was the only one who could see it, see past its deception, its perception filter, see the true monster.

Other terms: SEP field, going dim, blindfold, scales of darkness (old).
