GRAYSKINS (noun)

   Current.

Those infected with the Misery-Maker known as the Circling Chant or the CHOIR. Their name comes from the gray fungus that grows on their skin, often covering their entire body, including face. They are tormented night and day by the Chant and must obey them or go insane.

Example: He met a Grayskin on the side of the road, their body wrapped in sheets from head to foot, their face obscured by shadows.

Other terms: Carriers, the Piebald People, the Screaming.

  1. Now, see, I have an inherent problem with this definition, because it implies that all those with a Choir problem are Greyskins. Greyskins, in my experience, are those who have been exposed to the Choir to such a degree that the Choir precipitate on their skins... Or something. That was my theory, anyway.

Bottom line is that not all infected with the Choir become Greyskins. Some seem perfectly normal, they just don't hear things correctly.

Perhaps I'm nitpicking here, but this bothers me a little.

    1. That's why I include the other terms. Generally, those who are haunted by the Chant, but not infested, are called "Screamers." Because of all the screaming they hear and do.
